Constrained Sales and ticket type relationships feature

This feature allows event organisers to control ticket sales by limiting them to predefined contact lists. Additionally, users can choose specific ticket types when adding tickets to their cart. This guide will walk you through the steps of using this feature effectively.

Table of Contents:

  1. Accessing the feature
  2. Setting Up constrained sales with contact lists
  3. Setting up constrained ticket type selection
  4. Adding tickets with constrained selection

1. Accessing the feature: To access the Constrained Sales and Ticket Type Selection feature, log in to Undiscovered and navigate to the event you wish to configure. Under the event management options, you will find the Ticket Pricing section. Here, you can create or edit your existing ticket types.

2. Setting up constrained sales with contact lists:

  • When editing a ticket type, scroll to the "Constraints" section.
  • Choose a contact list that will have access to the ticket type. These lists can be pre-existing groups of contacts in your organisation's Contact section.
  • Save your settings to activate constrained sales for the selected contact list.

3. Setting up constrained ticket type selection:

  • Scroll to the Constraints section for the specific ticket type.
  • Identify the ticket types that customers must select together, such as "General Admission" which is needed when purchasing a Car Pass.
  • Save your settings to enable the constrained ticket type selection for the ticket type.
If you add constraints to a secret or hidden ticket types, they will be linked together. When the customer uses the link, all related ticket types will be available for purchase.

4. Adding tickets with constrained selection:

  • With the constrained ticket type selection active, customers will see a prompt to select additional ticket types when choosing their primary tickets.
  • Customers can then choose the required ticket types, like "General Admission" and "Car Pass," along with the quantities.
  • Only when all required ticket types are selected will customers be able to proceed to the checkout.

Tips for Effective Use:

  • The constrained ticket type selection feature enhances your control over the ticket purchasing process and ensures customers select all necessary ticket types.
  • Clearly communicate with your target audience that the event has constrained sales. This will help set expectations and generate interest from the right audience.
  • Ensure that your customers understand the need to select constrained ticket types to avoid any confusion during the ticketing process.
  • Always verify your settings before saving to ensure the proper ticket type constraints are in place.
