Resale waitlist

Created on 11 Jun 2025

What is the resale waitlist?

The resale waitlist allows customers to register for email notifications when tickets become available for resale on your event's marketplace. When ticket holders list their tickets for resale, waitlisted customers will be among the first to know, giving them priority access to purchase these tickets.

How it works for end users

Joining the waitlist

End users can register for the resale waitlist directly from your event page. Once they've registered and confirmed their email address, they'll be added to the waitlist for that specific event.

Receiving notifications

Each time a ticket is listed for resale on your event's marketplace, registered users will receive an email notification containing:

  • Details about the newly available tickets
  • A link to visit the marketplace and view the listing
  • An option to opt out of future notifications

Users will continue to receive these email alerts until they either:

  • Purchase a resale ticket (automatic opt-out)
  • Manually opt out using the link in the email
Automatic opt-out after purchase

When a waitlisted user successfully purchases a resale ticket, their status will be updated to "purchased". This ensures they won't receive unnecessary notifications for future listings.

How it works for event organisers

Automatic waitlist creation

You don't need to manually set up a resale waitlist. When the first customer registers for resale notifications on your event, a waitlist will be automatically created. Each event can only have one resale waitlist.

Managing your waitlist

From your event's waitlist management page, you can:

  • View all users registered on your resale waitlist
  • Monitor registration statuses, including:
    • Notified: Users who have received email notifications
    • Purchased: Users who have bought resale tickets and been automatically opted out
    • Passed: Users who have opted out of notifications
  • Track waitlist engagement and activity

The waitlist management section provides insights into how many people are waiting for resale tickets, helping you understand demand for your event and the effectiveness of your resale marketplace.
